Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Clay Rawls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nelson Gonsalvez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelson Gonsalvez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Clay Rawls!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nelson Gonsalvez!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonsalvez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Rawls gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Gonsalvez fails to pull guard.

Rawls breaks from the clinch.

Rawls forces Gonsalvez back against the cage and clinches.

Rawls manages to break the clinch.

Rawls has Gonsalvez up against the cage in a clinch.
Gonsalvez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rawls avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Gonsalvez wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rawls has him pressed against the cage.
Rawls gets underhooks to prevent Gonsalvez's takedown attempt.
Clay Rawls has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nelson Gonsalvez.
Nice body punch from Rawls - that landed with a thud.

Rawls escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Gonsalvez tries to keep at a distance but Rawls has taken the fight into the clinch.

Rawls breaks the clinch.
Gonsalvez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rawls misses with a looping left.

Rawls darts in and clinches Gonsalvez up against the cage.
Rawls prevents Gonsalvez from breaking the clinch.

Rawls escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Rawls closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Gonsalvez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rawls is looking to take a break and control but Gonsalvez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rawls is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Gonsalvez will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Rawls is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gonsalvez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Rawls looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Rawls working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Rawls is looking to take a break and control but Gonsalvez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Rawls tries for a kimura but Gonsalvez is defending well.

Rawls wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gonsalvez, who protects the arm well.
Rawls is breathing heavily.
Gonsalvez tries to improve position but can't.
Rawls sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Gonsalvez is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Rawls pushes Gonsalvez up against the cage in a clinch.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Rawls escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nelson Gonsalvez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gonsalvez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rawls is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Gonsalvez.

Rawls throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gonsalvez.
Oh Rawls is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gonsalvez misses with the combination.

Rawls closes the distance and clinches.
Rawls seems to have got his legs back now.
Gonsalvez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rawls avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Rawls darts in and clinches Gonsalvez up against the cage.

Rawls lands a takedown into guard.

Rawls thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Gonsalvez wants to sweep but no luck.

Gonsalvez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rawls can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Rawls trying to control but Gonsalvez is working from the bottom.

Gonsalvez is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Rawls frees his head nicely. Oh but Gonsalvez has switched to an armbar! Rawls is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
