Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Bum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kross Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Burns's choice of entrance music: Gimme the Loot. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cain Bum!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kross Burns!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bum pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Burns is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Bum closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Burns to the mat! Burns manages to get full guard.
Burns wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burns being controlled here, momentarily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burns looking to control.
Bum pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Burns is keeping the position for now.
Bum controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Bum pushes Burns up against the cage in a clinch.

Burns tries for a takedown. No joy.
Burns is trying to drag Bum to the mat but Bum just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kross Burns was stalling too much, according to the referee.

The referee asks Bum politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bum prefers to stall for the moment though.
Burns is looking to regain half guard here but Bum keeps moving and retains side control.
Bum trying to control the action but Burns is working from the bottom.

Burns tries to bench press Bum off him but Bum keeps the position.

Burns is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Bum decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Burns shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Burns wants to pass to mount but Bum is defending the position.

Bum is trying to maintain the position but Burns is very close to passing his half guard.
Burns prevents Bum from improving his position.
Burns is thwarting Bum's attempts to control the position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Bum pivots, looking for a leg kick but Burns is out of range and Bum settles back down.

Bum gets control of Burns's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bum will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Bum is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Burns loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burns is standing up over Bum. Bum looks to escape but Burns dives into side control.

Burns thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Bum takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Bum is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Burns has just dragged him back down to the mat.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sloppy strikes there by Burns.
Burns fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Bum trying his best to control but Burns has mounted him.
Burns lands a heavy elbow.
Burns thowing shots but they're missing.
Burns is landing with some decent strikes but Bum is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Bum is looking to improve his position but Burns isn't that keen on the idea.

Kross Burns showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Burns tries to clinch up but Bum circles away and keeps his distance.
Bum tries to land a leg kick but Burns saw it coming and moves away.

Burns clinches up with Bum and pushes him back against the cage.

Bum looking for a guillotine here but Burns defends easily.

Bum is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Burns has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Bum got a little sloppy there for a moment and Burns has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bum has managed to get both his arms back between Burns's legs - danger averted.

Bum tries to free his leg and advance position but Burns is retaining full guard.

Bum controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Cain Bum just wasn't active enough.

Bum closes the distance and clinches.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Bum as Burns tries to tie him up.
Burns has Bum pressed against the cage, preventing Bum from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bum has had enough of the clinch but Burns keeps him there for the moment.
Bum is trying to break free.

Bum decides to pull guard.
Burns with a flurry of punches that miss.
Bum trying to control the position.
Burns trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Bum trying to keep a closed guard but Burns is proving a slippery customer.
Burns won't allow Bum to sweep him here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
