Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Karelin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kai Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Karelin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Karelin working over Dixon with some ground and pound. Dixon looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

It looks like Kai Dixon has been cut.
Karelin prevents Dixon from standing back up.
Karelin throwing shots but Dixon is blocking nicely.
Karelin throws a strike but Dixon avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dixon can do anything to dispel that myth.
Karelin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Karelin wants to pass the guard but Dixon is keeping the position.
Karelin throws and elbow that misses. Dixon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Karelin's guard. Nice move by Dixon!

Karelin wants to stand and escape but Dixon is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Karelin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Dixon!
Karelin lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Dixon really wants to buck Karelin off and get back to his feet.
Karelin thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Karelin trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Karelin connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Dixon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Karelin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Karelin has hold of Dixon's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Dixon manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Dixon looks gassed!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Karelin pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Karelin sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Karelin lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Poor strikes thrown by Karelin there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That has opened up Kai Dixon's cut even more.
Karelin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dixon looks a forlorn figure.

The cut above Kai Dixon's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kai Dixon's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Alexander Karelin!
