A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jones.
Nice shot lands for Linic.
Linic throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Linic tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Linic paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Linic looks to score with a jab to the body but Jones is just out of range.
Linic just misses with a punch to the body.
Jones clinches but Linic breaks the clinch
and Linic counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jones takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Linic connects with a looping right hand.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Linic listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Linic drops Jones with a big left hand and mounts him. Jones is in big trouble!
Jones is rocked!
Linic working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Jones turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Linic off and cradles Jones's limp body as Linic celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Mario Linic!
