PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lyon Du (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and KING KONG (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Du kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Du Hast. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as KING KONG enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lyon Du!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, KING KONG!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Du moves into range and clinches up with KONG.

Du jumps guard.
Du controls KONG momentarily but KONG frees himself.
KONG looking to pass the guard.
KONG being controlled here momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Du trying to strike off his back.

Du has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. KONG is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Du.
Du is trying to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Du tries to control but KONG manages to take his back.
Du wants to control his opponent's hands but KONG gets his hands free.
Du tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Du tries to hold on but KONG postures up.
Du reaches up to try and control the position but KONG seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Du rolls and tries to escape and now KONG has his back!

The referee stands the fighters back up. Lyon Du just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Du pivots, looking for a leg kick but KONG is out of range and Du settles back down.

Du gets the takedown into side control.

Du swings around for an armbar but KONG sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Du's guard.
Du is breathing heavily.
Du is looking to sweep but instead, KONG has passed into half guard.
KONG wants to free his trapped foot but Du is holding on for dear life with his legs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Du wants to get back to full guard but KONG has mounted him!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Du flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
KONG moves to back control.
KONG tries to get the hooks in deep but Du pushed the leg off.
Du tries to escape the position.
KONG struggling to keep hold of the position.

KONG has got one arm under Du's chin. This could be trouble... Du trying to control the other hand but KONG gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Du has tapped out! The fight is over!
