The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lyons thows a body shot but no joy.
Lyons looks to land a right hand but Machin moved out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Machin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Machin moves in looking to clinch but Lyons pushes him off.
Lyons shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Machin closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lyons quickly recovers to half guard.
Machin is looking to pass Lyons's guard but actually Lyons recovers to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Machin throws a strike but Lyons rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Machin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lyons gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lyons accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Machin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lyons doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lyons manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
