The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Igor Prikhodko and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deforz moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

and Cano counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Deforz's guard now.
Deforz is looking to stand up but Cano isn't so interested in that idea.
Deforz pushes Cano off and gets back to his feet.
Deforz throws a looping overhand right but Cano ducks down to avoid it.
Cano shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cano showed some decent athleticism there.
Cano is working for a kimura but Deforz is defending it quite comfortably.

Cano drops back, looking for a kneebar! Deforz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Deforz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Deforz!
Cano is letting Deforz control him for a moment.
Deforz decides to stand up, so the ref orders Cano to his feet.

and Cano counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Deforz!
Cano can't control as he wanted to and Deforz manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Cano wants to lay and pray for a moment but Deforz keeps working.
Cano is trying to work for a kimura but Deforz is defending well.

Deforz is staying active underneath Cano, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Cano wants to free his trapped foot but Deforz is holding on for dear life with his legs.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cano cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Cano misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Cano goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Deforz turns into him and now he's in Cano's guard.
Deforz gets to his feet. Cano looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Deforz closes the distance but Cano moves to the side
so Cano counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Deforz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cano is controlling him.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Deforz wants to hit a switch here but Cano passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Deforz there!
