Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and LeRoy Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnes has chosen Fireman (Instrumental) as his entrance music. Hugo Chavez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chavez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Barnes throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Chavez was covering up waiting for the punch and Barnes finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Chavez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Barnes avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Barnes passes Chavez's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Barnes works his way into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chavez wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chavez wants to control but Barnes postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barnes tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Barnes has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Chavez wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Chavez regains half guard.

Barnes looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Chavez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Barnes pulls his head out easily.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Barnes has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Barnes working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Chavez looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Barnes! Submission of the night perhaps?
