Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rob Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vera has chosen Weightless by All Time Low as his entrance music. Rob Edwards has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rob Edwards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joey Vera!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Edwards does no damage.
Vera tries to close the distance and clinch up but Edwards swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Edwards lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Joey Vera has been cut.
Edwards throws a lazy right hand but Vera sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Vera scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Edwards wants to get back to his feet.
Vera works his way into side control.
Vera works to advance to full mount. Edwards defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vera working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Vera get's back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Edwards will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Edwards connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Vera's hands.
Vera is rocked!
Edwards cracks Vera with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Vera tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Edwards pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Vera is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rob Edwards!
