Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Gass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Nottingham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Nottingham struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.0lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gass throws a jab when Nottingham was well out of range.
Nottingham misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nottingham fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gass manages to avoid it.
Nottingham has a takedown stuffed.
Nottingham tries for a takedown but Gass sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Nottingham stuns Gass with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Nottingham wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gass keeps working.
Nottingham might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gass kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Nottingham throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Nottingham is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Gass defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
