PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between jeremey Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Perry's choice of entrance music: I'm the Upsetter. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perry misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Johnson.
Johnson walks into a left hand.

Perry closes the distance and pushes Johnson back into the cage.

Perry breaks from the clinch.

Perry shoots in and gets a takedown into Johnson's guard.

Perry wants to get back to his feet but Johnson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Johnson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Perry wants to stand up but Johnson is controlling him.
Johnson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Johnson is pushing down on Perry's leg trying to pass to half guard. Perry is fighting to maintain full guard but Johnson has managed to sneak the leg through.

Perry kicks Johnson off and gets back to his feet.

Perry fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Perry closes the distance and clinches up with Johnson, looking for a takedown. Perry pushes Johnson against the cage but Johnson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Perry thows a body shot but no joy.

A punch lands to the side of Johnson 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Perry lands a jab to the nose.

Perry has managed to clinch.

Perry escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Johnson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Perry throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Johnson was covering up waiting for the punch and Perry finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Perry lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Perry is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Perry lands a couple of elbows.
Perry pushes down on Johnson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Johnson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Perry scores with a couple of nice shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Perry passes to full mount!
Perry has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Johnson's face.

Perry scoring with strikes but Johnson is staying in there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Perry takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lee Perry dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Perry shoots in and bounces Johnson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Perry works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Perry looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Johnson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Perry lands a nice shot to the head.
Perry has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Perry cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Johnson is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A big strike lands for Perry! That's really hurt Johnson and he's turned his back - Perry keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Perry jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
