Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mikolaj Nowak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Drophaminos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Drophaminos acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikolaj Nowak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Daniel Drophaminos!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drophaminos fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Nowak changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Drophaminos looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ground and pound from Nowak seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Nowak looking to control but instead Drophaminos has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Drophaminos trying to hold on to Nowak's head to control him but Nowak postures up.
Nowak missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Drophaminos wants to get back to full guard.

Drophaminos is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Nowak tries to pass to full mount but Drophaminos defends it.
Nowak seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Drophaminos does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Drophaminos wants to get back to full guard.
Drophaminos won't allow Nowak to pass to mount.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Mikolaj Nowak just wasn't active enough.
Nowak pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Drophaminos tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The fight stays on the outside here - Drophaminos looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Drophaminos shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nowak napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nowak is trying to improve his position.

Nowak stops Drophaminos from passing to mount.
Nowak is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Drophaminos is controlling him well.

Drophaminos wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nowak, who protects the arm well.

Nowak is trying to buck Drophaminos off.

and Nowak holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Mikolaj Nowak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Drophaminos.

Nowak has hold of one of Drophaminos's legs. Drophaminos is fighting the takedown attempt but Nowak gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Nowak looking to sit in guard and control but Drophaminos gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Drophaminos is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Nowak is looking for a triangle but Drophaminos pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mikolaj Nowak will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Drophaminos looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nowak lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Drophaminos circles away quickly and effectively.

Nowak takes the fight into the clinch.

Nowak escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Drophaminos dives in and grabs Nowak's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nowak pushes down on Drophaminos's head and hops out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nowak throws a nice looking combination but Drophaminos bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Nowak gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Nowak blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Nowak breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Drophaminos gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Nowak counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Mikolaj Nowak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Drophaminos.

Nowak trying to control the position from guard on top but Drophaminos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Nowak wanted to stand there but Drophaminos had control of the position.
Nowak being controlled here momentarily.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Drophaminos manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Drophaminos controlling the position easily from mount.
Nowak is trying to escape the mount but Drophaminos keeps good control and instead manages to take Nowak's back.
Nowak wants to get back to his feet.
Nowak might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Drophaminos really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Nowak.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Drophaminos has managed to slip his arm under Nowak's chin. This could be all over... yep, Nowak is tapping out! Submission win for Drophaminos.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Daniel Drophaminos!
