Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fabio Melo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alas Malas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alas Malas will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malas misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Melo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Melo showed some decent athleticism there.
Melo missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Melo is trying to control the action in half guard but Malas is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Melo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Malas is just riding it out for now. Melo eventually gives up the hold.
Malas is staying active underneath Melo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Malas moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Melo looking to sit in guard and control but Malas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Malas drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Malas seems to have locked his on tight now - Melo screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Malas, as he picks up the win!
