PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy Zeraka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DeVaughn Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zeraka kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Most Wanted Cowboy. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DeVaughn Williams!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Williams feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Zeraka manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Williams manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zeraka drops back looking for a leg! Williams is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Williams manages to kick Zeraka off! Zeraka jumps back into Williams's guard.
Williams is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Zeraka postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Williams bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Zeraka's guard.

DeVaughn Williams has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Some bone on bone action there as Zeraka checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Zeraka doesn't manage to clinch there - Williams circles away.
Zeraka tries to clinch up but Williams circles away and keeps his distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Williams looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Williams throws a right hand that Zeraka ducks under and follows up with a left that Zeraka also avoids with ease.
Zeraka fails to land the takedown.
Zeraka tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Williams paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Zeraka is working for takedown but Williams is calmly controlling the position for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Williams is fighting off a takedown attempt but Zeraka is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Williams to the mat. Williams regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Zeraka thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Zeraka is breathing heavily.

Zeraka has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Williams to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Zeraka is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Williams pulls down on the head and he's put Zeraka to sleep! This one is all over!
