PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Woopass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Brookins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brookins has chosen Good Morning - Kanye West as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kyle Woopass!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Brookins!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Paulo Santos and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brookins thows a body shot but no joy.

Woopass scores with a takedown into Brookins's guard.
Woopass wants to pass the guard but Brookins is keeping the position.
Brookins is looking to stand up but Woopass isn't so interested in that idea.
Woopass wants to control from the top but Brookins keeps moving.
Woopass throwing strikes but missing.

Woopass drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Brookins manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Woopass has Brookins in his guard.
Brookins stands up over Woopass, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Brookins tries to free his leg and advance position but Woopass is retaining full guard.

Woopass has his foot on Brookins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brookins works his way back into a safe position though.

Brookins has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Woopass to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Brookins is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Woopass pulls down on the head and he's put Brookins to sleep! This one is all over!
