The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sparbot works Alves's body with a nice hook.
Sparbot changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Alves is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Sparbot.

It looks like Mauricio Alves has been cut.
Sparbot misses with a wild body shot.
Sparbot lands a jab to the nose.
Sparbot misses with an uppercut.
Jims Sparbot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sparbot lands a nice hook to Alves's body. Alves takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Alves shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sparbot defends it nicely.

Sparbot throws a lazy right hand but Alves sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Sparbot throws out a powerful jab.
Alves checks the leg kick.
Sparbot lands with a nice body punch.
Sparbot throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Alves walks into a straight right hand from Sparbot.
Alves moves out of range of the strikes.
Alves gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Sparbot throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sparbot comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alves takes one on the button.

Alves takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Alves looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

That has opened up Mauricio Alves's cut even more.
Sparbot drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Alves's head, knocking him out cold! Sparbot is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
