Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Colby Sparrow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vladislav Tsvetkov!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tsvetkov darts in and clinches Sparrow up against the cage.
Tsvetkov tries to pull guard but Sparrow won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Still in the clinch, Tsvetkov scores with a nice short uppercut.
It looks like Colby Sparrow has been cut.
Tsvetkov tries to pull guard but Sparrow holds him up against the cage and eventually Tsvetkov drops back down to his feet.
Sparrow jumps guard but Tsvetkov stands there with Sparrow around his waist. Sparrow gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Tsvetkov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sparrow scores with a takedown into Tsvetkov's guard.
Sparrow is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Sparrow is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tsvetkov is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tsvetkov has escaped and now he's on top!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sparrow wants to get back to his feet but Tsvetkov is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Tsvetkov slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Tsvetkov in side control, throwing shots but Sparrow defends.
Sparrow wants to get back to his feet but Tsvetkov drags him back down.
Sparrow is looking to reverse the position.
Tsvetkov wants to control but Sparrow is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Tsvetkov is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Tsvetkov throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Sparrow works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Tsvetkov tries to stand but as he's on his way up, Sparrow locks on to a trailing arm. Oh, he's locked on a tight looking armbar - it looks tight! Sparrow rolls him over and extends the submission further. Tsvetkov is forced to tap! He'll be kicking himself for that sloppy move but that was very slick from Sparrow!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Colby Sparrow!
