The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Spade.
Akiyama rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Spade moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
No joy there for Akiyama, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Spade closes the distance and clinches up with Akiyama, looking for a takedown. Spade pushes Akiyama against the cage but Akiyama circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Akiyama looks to land a combination but Spade avoids it well.
Akiyama throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Akiyama throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Spade counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Akiyama is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Spade scores a takedown into full mount!

Spade goes for an armbar but Akiyama turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Akiyama.

Akiyama stands up and waves to Spade to follow him.
Spade looks to land a left hand but Akiyama moved out of range nicely.

Akiyama takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Akiyama throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Spade colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Akiyama as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Spade is left battered and dazed whilst Akiyama and his camp cheer!
