Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between BMac Sapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, BMac Sapp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonathan Hawkins!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sapp misses with an uppercut.
BMac Sapp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hawkins has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hawkins there as he acknowledges the shot.


It looks like Jonathan Hawkins has been cut.

Hawkins bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Sapp throws a shot from downtown. Hawkins moves away and avoids it.
Sapp throws a hook to the side of Hawkins's head but Hawkins sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hawkins ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sapp misses with a straight right.
Sapp throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hawkins scores with a hook to the body. Sapp takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Sapp looks to throw the jab but Hawkins is out of range.

Hawkins drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hawkins passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Hawkins in side control, throwing shots but Sapp defends.
Hawkins tries to score with some ground and pound. Sapp controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Sapp on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sapp tries to get out of the position.
Hawkins grinds an elbow into Sapp's temple.
Hawkins cracks Sapp with a big right hand but Sapp just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Sapp takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
You can see the frustration on Sapp's face as Hawkins controls the position.

Hawkins fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Hawkins cracks Sapp with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Hawkins connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sapp's hands.

Sapp throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hawkins sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Sapp gets caught flat footed, as Hawkins shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Sapp wants to get back to his feet but Hawkins is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Sapp really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hawkins passes Sapp's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Hawkins lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hawkins looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Sapp covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
