PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Phillipe Render (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramon Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramon Silva told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phillipe Render!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ramon Silva!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick from Silva lands but Render takes it in his stride.

It looks like Phillipe Render has been cut.
Silva throws a nice looking combination but Render bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Render will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Render shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Silva as he avoids it easily.
Render sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Silva fails with the takedown

so Render counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Silva trying to control but Render is having none of it.
Silva moves to the back.
Silva is looking to control Render but Render is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Render won't enjoy being in this position. Silva looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Render is tapping - it's over boys! Silva picks up the submission victory!
