PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pikku Hiawatha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nixon Red (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hiawatha comes to the cage accompanied by The Gael. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pikku Hiawatha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nixon Red!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Red misses with a head kick.
A head kick misses from Red.
Hiawatha throws a sloppy head kick and Red moves out of range easily.
Hiawatha tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Hiawatha throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hiawatha changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Red tries to avoid it but Hiawatha manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Red to the ground. Red escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Red gets caught flat footed, as Hiawatha shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hiawatha looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Red with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Red tries to kick Hiawatha off but Hiawatha keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Hiawatha tries to pass to full mount but Red defends it.

Hiawatha lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Hiawatha wants to take a breather but Red is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hiawatha uses his free foot to push down on Red's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Red.
Red really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hiawatha. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hiawatha throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Red has his hands clasped together but Hiawatha breaks the hold and Red is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Hiawatha!
