Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kelvin Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Katana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Katana's choice of entrance music: Baby got back. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as James Katana enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, James Katana!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Katana shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Black napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Katana has control of an arm but Black manages to advance to Katana's back!

Katana really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Black. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Black tries to get the hooks in deep but Katana pushed the leg off.

and Katana counters with a nice uppercut.
Katana swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Black.

and Katana counters with a nice double leg into side control. Black won't be happy with that.

Katana decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Katana scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Katana lands with a hook. Black tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Katana has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Katana's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Katana duly obliges.
Katana lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

and Katana cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Katana lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Black takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Black takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

and Katana counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Katana keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Katana lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

and Katana counters with a single leg into guard. Black didn't expect that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Black has a closed guard, preventing Katana from standing up.

Katana gets to his feet - Black follows without any prompting.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Black. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Black needs to keep his hands up - Katana had a free shot at his head there.
Katana catches Black with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Katana stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kelvin Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Black moves forwards but Katana connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Katana might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
