The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kaio shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Zaluzinho manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kaio postures up.
Zaluzinho looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Kaio is looking to stand up but Zaluzinho won't let him.
Kaio controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Kaio closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Zaluzinho quickly recovers to half guard.
Kaio tries to pass to full mount but Zaluzinho defends it.
Zaluzinho tries to get to full guard but Kaio has control of the leg.

Kaio working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Kaio stands up out of the half guard.
Kaio tries to close the distance and clinch up but Zaluzinho swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Zaluzinho tries to clinch up but Kaio circles away and keeps his distance.
Kaio throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Zaluzinho looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kaio!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kaio working to try and regain half guard.
Zaluzinho lands with some strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kaio is working to get back to half guard.

Zaluzinho looking to control but Kaio is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Zaluzinho jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Kaio is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Kaio and Zaluzinho has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Kaio wants to get back to his feet but Zaluzinho drags him back down.
Kaio can't do much from the bottom here.

Zaluzinho is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kaio is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Zaluzinho is breathing heavily.

Kaio is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Zaluzinho's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Kaio wants to get back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Zaluzinho is trying to control the action in half guard but Kaio is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Kaio wants to improve his position but Zaluzinho is controlling well.
Kaio holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Kaio tries to roll over but Zaluzinho keeps him under control.
Kaio is trying to control but can't.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Donk. Kaio catches Zaluzinho right on the button with a cross.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kaio fails with a takedown attempt.

Kaio cracks Zaluzinho with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Zaluzinho looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Kaio finish him?

Zaluzinho loses concentration momentarily and Kaio pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Zaluzinho crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Kaio finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
