PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lamar Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Ryder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jacob Ryder was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lamar Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacob Ryder!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lewis gets caught flat footed, as Ryder shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ryder accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lewis is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Ryder working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Ryder throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lewis works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ryder stops Lewis from standing up.

Ryder tries to free his leg and advance position but Lewis is retaining full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Still in the clinch, Lewis scores with a nice short uppercut.

Lamar Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacob Ryder.

That was a close round but I would say that Lamar Lewis will probably get the nod.

Ryder looks to land a strike but Lewis avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Lewis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ryder can't keep his opponent in guard - Lewis advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Lewis is trying to control the action in half guard but Ryder is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Lewis wants to free his trapped foot but Ryder is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Jacob Ryder showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Ryder feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jacob Ryder comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ryder has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
