Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Julius Benedict!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benedict misses with a takedown attempt - Maya sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Maya connects with a high kick.
It looks like Julius Benedict has been cut.
Maya has taken the fight to the clinch.
Maya stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Benedict tries to break the clinch but Maya is controlling the position.
Maya lands an elbow inside that Benedict shrugs off.
Maya stalls.
Maya creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Benedict's defenses.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Maya crunches a lovely knee into Benedict's ribcage.
Benedict tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Maya smiles and moves away.
Benedict darts in trying to clinch
and Maya counters with a nice double leg into side control. Benedict won't be happy with that.
Benedict looks gassed!
Maya controlling the position.
Maya has knee on belly and moves into mount.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Maya controlling his opponent.
Maya working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Benedict turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Maya off and cradles Benedict's limp body as Maya celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Damien Maya!
