The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Loxo shoots in and gets a takedown into Wade's guard.
Wade keeping moving, preventing Loxo from controlling successfully.

Loxo postures up.
Loxo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wade swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Loxo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Loxo won't allow Wade to sweep him here.

Wade pushes Loxo off and gets back to his feet.
Loxo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wade.

Horrible takedown by Loxo or perhaps it was just good defense by Wade which made him look bad.

Wade throws a nice looking combination but Loxo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Loxo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Wade.

Loxo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Loxo slips a nice elbow through Wade's hands, connecting with Wade's forehead.

Loxo is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wade is looking for a sweep. Loxo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Loxo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Wade doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Loxo.

Loxo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Wade has managed to free his arm - good work.

Loxo seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Wade has recovered full guard.

Wade on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wade tries to get out of the position.

Loxo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Wade looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Wade looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Wade!
Loxo manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Wade makes his way to full guard, as Loxo worked for a kimura.

Loxo has gone for a leg lock! Wade slips out almost immediately though and dives into Loxo's guard.

Wade throws a big right hand that misses.
Wade wants to control from the top but Loxo keeps moving.
Loxo wants to sweep but no luck.

Wade decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Ele Loxo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Loxo on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Loxo fails with a takedown attempt.
Loxo walks into a stiff left hand from Wade.

A close round but Ele Loxo will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Loxo slips under a jab from Wade.
Wade changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Loxo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wade circles away.
Wade lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Loxo circles away quickly and effectively.
Loxo throws a looping overhand right but Wade ducks down to avoid it.
Wade connects with a high kick.
Wade uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Loxo.
Wade lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Wade leaves Loxo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wade. Loxo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Loxo takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Gary Wade has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ele Loxo.

Wade sizes up Loxo with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Wade will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Loxo drops his hands momentarily and Wade takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Wade throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Loxo takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Loxo is rocked!

Whack! Wade lands a heavy head kick that drops Loxo. The ref tackles Wade to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Loxo was done.
