Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Jackman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson's entrance music is Through the Fire Flames- Dragonforce. A fine choice. Nate Jackman is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Jackman plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Johnson closes the distance and clinches.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Jackman is pressed up against the cage. Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jackman down to the mat. Jackman avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jackman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jackman shoots in and drives through. Johnson sprawls well.
Jackman misses with a hook.
Some bone on bone action there as Jackman checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Johnson throws a right hand that Jackman ducks under and follows up with a left that Jackman also avoids with ease.
Johnson tries to clinch but Jackman is having none of it.
Johnson throws a push kick but Jackman slaps the foot to one side.
Jackman lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Jackman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Jackman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working.

Jackman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Johnson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Johnson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Jackman wants to advance to full mount but Johnson doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Jackman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Johnson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Johnson has escaped and now he's on top!

Jackman has his foot on Johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jackman is on top in guard.
Johnson has control of Jackman's left arm, preventing Jackman from doing any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Jackman has gone for a leg lock! Johnson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jackman's guard.
Johnson wants to pass the guard but Jackman is keeping the position.
Johnson wanted to stand there but Jackman had control of the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nate Jackman dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It looks like George Johnson has been cut.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Johnson blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Jackman using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Johnson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Jackman looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Johnson has picked Jackman up and slammed him! Jackman can't keep hold of the triangle and Johnson manages to pass to side control!

Jackman tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Johnson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Johnson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jackman is looking to escape.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jackman wants to control but Johnson is having none of it.
Johnson prevents Jackman from getting the reversal.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Johnson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Johnson.
Jackman lands a two punch combo.
No joy there for Johnson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Johnson tries a low kick but Jackman avoids it.

and Jackman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jackman might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Johnson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jackman throws out the jab.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Johnson cracks Jackman with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jackman regains half guard.
Johnson content to control rather than advance.
Jackman wants to improve his position but Johnson is controlling well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Well, if Johnson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
