The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cat is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ivanov sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Ivanov tries to clinch but Cat is having none of it.
Ivanov moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Ivanov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ivanov rushes Cat and presses him up against the cage.

Ivanov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Cat feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Cat throws and elbow that misses. Ivanov uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cat's guard. Nice move by Ivanov!
Ivanov won't allow Cat to sweep him here.
Ivanov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cat. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cat is on top in guard.

Cat looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Ivanov pushes Cat off looking to stand but Cat dives back in and keeps control.
