The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamadoui rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lapid moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hamadoui leaves Lapid with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Lito Lapid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hamadoui forces Lapid back against the cage and clinches.
Lapid wants a takedown but no success here.
Lapid avoids a wild elbow strike from Hamadoui.
Hamadoui tries to land a knee to the head but Lapid blocks with his arms.

Hamadoui escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Horrible takedown by Lapid or perhaps it was just good defense by Hamadoui which made him look bad.

Lapid shoots for a double leg takedown but Hamadoui sprawls well. He's pushed Lapid's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hamadoui gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lapid to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Hamadoui is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hamadoui manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Hamadoui displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lapid.
Lapid shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hamadoui but Hamadoui pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Hamadoui tries to kick Lapid off but Lapid keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Lapid is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hamadoui defends it well.

Hamadoui really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lapid. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
