The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mubarak fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fitzgerald avoids it really well and circles away.
Fitzgerald stuffs the takedown attempt from Mubarak. Mubarak gets slowly back to his feet.
Mubarak works over Fitzgerald's head and body with a nice combination.
Sekhmakh Mubarak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mubarak looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ryan Fitzgerald has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sekhmakh Mubarak.

Fitzgerald shoots in looking for a takedown. Mubarak tries to sprawl out of it but Fitzgerald keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mubarak manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fitzgerald could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fitzgerald tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Fitzgerald is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mubarak sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
