Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luke Hilton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Palmer Collins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luke Hilton has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luke Hilton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Palmer Collins!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Collins keeps the fight on the outside.
Collins takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Collins dives in and grabs Hilton's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hilton pushes down on Collins's head and hops out.
Hilton misses the shot to the body.
Hilton tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Collins was well out of range. Poor timing from Hilton.
Collins will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hilton keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Luke Hilton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Palmer Collins.
Collins gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Hilton.
Collins shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hilton defends it nicely.

Collins moves away from the strike by Hilton.
Collins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hilton tries to avoid it but Collins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hilton to the ground. Hilton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hilton tries to close the distance and clinch up but Collins swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Collins shoots for a takedown but Hilton saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Collins ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Collins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hilton.
Collins dodges the punch combination from Hilton.
Nice sprawl there from Hilton as Collins shoots in.
Hilton lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like Palmer Collins has been cut.
Hilton jabs Collins right on the nose. Collins blinks but takes it well.
Hilton stuffs the takedown attempt from Collins. Collins gets slowly back to his feet.

Collins moves out of range as Hilton strikes.
Collins tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hilton was well out of range. Poor timing from Collins.
Collins dives in and grabs Hilton's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hilton pushes down on Collins's head and hops out.
Collins is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Horrible takedown by Collins or perhaps it was just good defense by Hilton which made him look bad.
Collins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hilton.

A punch combination from Hilton misses.
Hilton rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Collins moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hilton will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hilton throws a lazy right hand but Collins sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Hilton fails with an attempt to clinch.
Collins shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hilton cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Hilton has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hilton stops a takedown attempt from Collins.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Collins is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hilton seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Collins for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


A slow jab from Hilton misses its intended target.

Hilton bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hilton wants to take a breather but Collins manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Hilton.

Hilton working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Hilton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hilton is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Hilton lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Collins keeping moving, preventing Hilton from controlling successfully.
Collins wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Hilton is now in half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hilton is thwarting Collins's attempts to control the position.
Hilton thows a huge punch but Collins dodges it nicely.

Hilton seems to be working for a kimura but Collins defends the submission attempt.

Hilton is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Hilton is stalling here. Collins is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hilton seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Collins has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Luke Hilton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
You can see the frustration on Hilton's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Luke Hilton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hilton is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Collins off and has taken his back!
Collins has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Hilton.
Hilton wants to control but Collins manages to buck him off and is now in Hilton's guard! Nice work there by Collins!

Palmer Collins has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Collins drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Collins jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hilton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Collins manages to get himself to full guard.

Collins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

And that's the end of the fight!
Luke Hilton showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Hilton has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
