Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Colton Cates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Praharnpap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anthony Praharnpap has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cates tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Praharnpap swivels and escapes.
Cates shoots in for a takedown but Praharnpap shows good takedown defense.

Praharnpap moves into range and clinches up with Cates.

Praharnpap escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Praharnpap has closed the distance and engaged Cates in a clinch.
Cates changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Praharnpap fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Colton Cates. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Praharnpap lets loose with a powerful body kick. Cates will feel that in the morning.
Cates avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cates shoots in but Praharnpap avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Praharnpap tries to clinch up.

Praharnpap has taken the fight to the clinch.
Praharnpap gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Cates.

Praharnpap breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Horrible takedown by Cates or perhaps it was just good defense by Praharnpap which made him look bad.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cates.
Cates fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cates is breathing heavily.
Cates throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Praharnpap.
Praharnpap throws a one two combo.
Cates tries to bum rush Praharnpap with a series of wild strikes but Praharnpap uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A head kick misses from Praharnpap.
Cates keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Praharnpap.
Cates looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Praharnpap is fending him off so far but Cates persists. Nope, Praharnpap circles away and we're back to standing.

and Cates counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Praharnpap's guard now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Praharnpap tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cates trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Cates is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Praharnpap pushes Cates off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Praharnpap does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Cates fails with a takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cates.
Cates uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cates changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Praharnpap looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Cates working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Praharnpap really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cates. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cates swings around for an armbar but Praharnpap sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Cates's guard.

Praharnpap wanted to stand there but Cates had control of the position.

Praharnpap stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Cates throws a right and a left that Praharnpap avoids nicely.
Cates shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Praharnpap pinned against the cage. Praharnpap gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nice uppercut there from Praharnpap.

Praharnpap throws a lazy uppercut
and Cates counters with a two punch combo.
Praharnpap throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Cates's head.
Praharnpap doesn't manage to clinch there - Cates circles away.
Praharnpap misses with a series of wild punches.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Cates has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Praharnpap is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Praharnpap breaks from the clinch.
Cates changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Praharnpap tries to avoid it but Cates manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Praharnpap to the ground. Praharnpap escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Praharnpap fails in his attempt to clinch.

Cates decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cates is trying for a kimura here. Praharnpap looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Cates wins by kimura!
