Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ispa Murskapuro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saito Shizuka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Saito Shizuka was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shizuka is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Murskapuro's half guard.

Shizuka is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Murskapuro has managed to free his arm - good work.

Shizuka is looking for a kimura but Murskapuro is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Shizuka to get the leverage.

Shizuka postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Murskapuro to stand up.
Murskapuro tries to close the distance and clinch but Shizuka swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Shizuka closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Murskapuro did well to prevent Shizuka getting side control.

Shizuka shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Murskapuro napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Shizuka remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Shizuka wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Murskapuro, who protects the arm well.

Shizuka has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Murskapuro is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Shizuka yanks on the arm and Murskapuro is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Shizuka.
