PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Reijo Ryti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryti's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Big Daddy Kane - I Get the Job Done. The crowd seem to be enjoying Grant's choice of entrance music: Diesel Power. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ryti closes the distance and pushes Grant back into the cage.
Grant is trying to break the clinch but Ryti is controlling him.
Grant works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Grant wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ryti has him pressed against the cage.
Grant is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Grant misses with a punch to the body.
Grant misses with some punches.

Ryti jumps guard and drags Grant to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Ryti is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Ryti missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Grant can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ryti is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Ryti is pressing down on Grant's thigh, looking to free his foot. Grant is holding on for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Reijo Ryti has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Nice sprawl there from Grant as Ryti shoots in.

Ryti drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Grant wants to stand up but Ryti is controlling him.
Ryti advances to half guard.

Grant really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ryti. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ryti is trying hard to land a takedown here. Grant sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

and Ryti counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Grant!
Grant avoids a series of strikes thrown by Ryti.

Ryti throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Grant has his hands clasped together but Ryti breaks the hold and Grant is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Ryti!
