The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture blocks a jab.

Omielanczuk throws a hook but Couture avoids it easily.

Couture throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Couture. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Couture is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Omielanczuk throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Couture on the side of the head.

Couture looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Couture might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Couture takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Omielanczuk missing with a left hand there. Couture was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Omielanczuk lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Couture takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Oh Couture is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Omielanczuk circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Couture to the canvas! Couture doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Omielanczuk keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
