Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between math scolar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Mangabeira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that math scolar has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily math scolar seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mangabeira fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mangabeira uses good head movement to avoid the hook from scolar.
Mangabeira ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Mangabeira slips under a jab from scolar.
A slow jab from scolar misses its intended target.

Mangabeira clinches with his opponent.
Mangabeira tries to pull guard but scolar won't allow it.
Mangabeira throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Mangabeira lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

It looks like math scolar has been cut.

Mangabeira pulls scolar into guard.

Mangabeira is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. scolar is aware though and is defending well.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mangabeira is on top in guard.
Mangabeira stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. scolar swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mangabeira thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Mangabeira slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

scolar can't keep his opponent in guard - Mangabeira advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Still in half guard, Mangabeira seems content to control.
scolar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if scolar tries to get out of the position.
Mangabeira wants to take a breather but scolar is having none of it.

Mangabeira postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! scolar is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mangabeira, into his guard.
Mangabeira lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for scolar!

Mangabeira is working for a guillotine from mount but scolar frees his head quite easily.

Mangabeira is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. scolar is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. scolar flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Mangabeira anticipates the leg and manages to get behind scolar and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Mangabeira slips an arm under scolar chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Mangabeira has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Mangabeira is squeezing on scolar like an anaconda would it's prey. scolar fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
