Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Akira Shinsato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shane Austin will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akira Shinsato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shane Austin!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Austin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Austin goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Shinsato has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Austin but great work by Shinsato.

Shinsato decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Shinsato instigates a clinch.
Austin fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Shinsato pulls guard effortlessly.
Shinsato keeping full guard, as Austin tries to pass.
Austin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Austin wants to pass the guard but Shinsato is keeping the position.
Austin throws and elbow that misses. Shinsato uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Austin's guard. Nice move by Shinsato!
Shinsato tries to free his leg and advance position but Austin is retaining full guard.

Shinsato loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Shinsato drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Austin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Shinsato has Austin in his guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Shinsato pushes Austin off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Austin closes the distance and clinches up with Shinsato, looking for a takedown. Austin pushes Shinsato against the cage but Shinsato circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Shinsato keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Akira Shinsato has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shane Austin.

Austin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shinsato avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Austin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Shinsato manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Austin has Shinsato in his guard.

Austin wants to control but Shinsato is keeping busy.

Shinsato seems to be working for a kimura but Austin defends the submission attempt.
Shinsato not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Shinsato thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Austin's head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shinsato wants to stand up but Austin has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Austin is looking to control Shinsato's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Austin avoid being mounted?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Shinsato closes the distance and clinches.

Shinsato ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Shinsato no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Austin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Shinsato dives on top into guard.

Shinsato is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Austin is looking for a sweep. Shinsato is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Shinsato not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Austin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shinsato is working away from the top position though.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Shane Austin was stalling too much, according to the referee.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Shane Austin hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Shinsato gets to his feet. Austin looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Shinsato feints and as Austin raises his hands in defense, Shinsato changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Shinsato decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Shinsato is defended easily by Austin.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Shinsato counters by moving into the clinch.

Austin is looking to stand up but Shinsato won't let him.

Austin stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Shinsato throws up his legs and catches Austin in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Austin tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Shinsato! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Akira Shinsato!
