Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony Patterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrew Ridgeley!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Russell Pearce and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ridgeley catches Patterson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Patterson tries to clinch there but Ridgeley circles away.
Good exchange - Ridgeley coming out on top.

Patterson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Patterson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Ridgeley's shoulder. That is not cool.
Ridgeley is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Patterson is controlling him well.

Patterson decides to stand back up. Patterson steps back and let's Ridgeley get back to his feet.
Patterson takes one to the chin there.
Ridgeley smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Good leg kick by Ridgeley there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

and Patterson counters by moving into the clinch.
Ridgeley keeps control of Patterson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Patterson drags the fight down to the ground.
Ridgeley wants to control from the top but Patterson keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ridgeley wants to stand and escape but instead Patterson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Patterson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ridgeley, up you get!
Nice jab there from Ridgeley.
Ridgeley connects with a jab.

Ridgeley tries to sprawl but Patterson drives through with a takedown into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ridgeley is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Patterson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Ridgeley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Patterson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ridgeley wants to control but Patterson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Ridgeley wants to improve his position but Patterson is controlling well.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Patterson trying to pass the guard but Ridgeley defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ridgeley jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Patterson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Patterson there as he acknowledges the shot.
Ridgeley moves into range and connects with a jab.
Nice sprawl there from Ridgeley as Patterson shoots in.
Patterson is breathing heavily.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Ridgeley, right into the meat.
Ridgeley works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Andrew Ridgeley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ridgeley moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Ridgeley checks the leg kick nicely there.
Patterson on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Jab, jab by Ridgeley - just one landing.
Ridgeley connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Patterson momentarily.

and Patterson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ridgeley's guard now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ridgeley is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Patterson thows a big elbow that misses.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Anthony Patterson will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Ridgeley scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Patterson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Ridgeley moves into range and connects with a jab.
Ridgeley lands a head shot.
Nice shot by Ridgeley.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ridgeley, as that shot connected.
Ridgeley paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
A left lands for Ridgeley.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ridgeley lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.


Patterson is rocked!
Patterson takes one to the side of the head.
Oh Patterson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ridgeley connects with a stiff jab that staggers Patterson - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Andrew Ridgeley!
