The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meagan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rodriguez swivels and escapes.

Rodriguez pushes Meagan up against the cage in a clinch.

Rodriguez breaks from the clinch.

Rodriguez moves into the clinch successfully.
Meagan has Rodriguez pressed against the cage, preventing Rodriguez from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Meagan goes for a takedown in the clinch but Rodriguez prevents it.

Rodriguez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Meagan shoots in for a double leg but Rodriguez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jayson Rodriguez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roger Meagan.
Meagan dodges the punch combination from Rodriguez.
Meagan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Meagan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rodriguez as he jumps to the side.
Rodriguez's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Rodriguez duly obliges.
Rodriguez cracks Meagan with a good jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rodriguez leaves Meagan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Meagan looks gassed!
Rodriguez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Meagan circles away quickly and effectively.

Rodriguez moves into the clinch.
Meagan is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Rodriguez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rodriguez lands with a right that hurts Meagan. Meagan looks to clinch but Rodriguez throws a short knee that drops Meagan. This one is all over!
