The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmaeling misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Some wild striking there from Schmaeling.
Schmaeling throws a series of punches but Hossain moves out of range.
Schmaeling tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hossain looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hossain misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Hossain gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Hossain escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Schmaeling takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Schmaeling bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Hossain closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Schmaeling wants to break the clinch but can't.
Hossain lands an elbow just above Schmaeling 's eye.
Schmaeling goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hossain prevents it.
Schmaeling wants to break free but Hossain has control.
Hossain unloads a knee to the mid-section. Schmaeling lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Hossain will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Schmaeling up against the cage.
Schmaeling tries to stall but Hossain uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Schmaeling misses with the combination.
Hossain looks for a takedown but Schmaeling sprawls well.

Schmaeling lands with a big right hook that stumbles Hossain - he's out on his feet here! Schmaeling follows up with another monster hook that separates Hossain from consciousness! Hossain falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Schmaeling stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
