Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rusty Helber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Burton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Helber comes to the cage accompanied by War is coming. Rusty Helber has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rusty Helber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Burton!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burton lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Helber at a distance.
A low kick from Helber misses
and Burton counters with a nice body shot.
Helber throws a half hearted mid kick.
Helber throws a nice outside leg kick.
Helber with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Helber fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Burton looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Helber tries to land a body kick
and Burton counters with a two punch combo.
Helber throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Helber keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Helber throws a series of punches but Burton avoids them all with ease.
Burton throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Burton scores with a jab to the head.

Helber uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Burton.
Burton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Helber manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Helber swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Burton counters with a left to the body.

Helber closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Helber lands in his opponent's guard.
Burton is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Burton lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Helber!

Burton is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Helber has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Helber is working to get back to half guard.
Burton can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Helber is looking to escape.

Burton jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Helber manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Burton tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Burton throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Helber is trying to control Burton's posture but Burton avoids it.

Burton is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Helber knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Helber tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Burton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Helber wants to get back to his feet but Burton drags him back down.
Helber is looking to regain half guard here but Burton keeps moving and retains side control.

Burton is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Helber has escaped the position, nice work there.

Burton tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Burton has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Burton working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Burton throws a strike aimed at the side of Helber's head but Helber avoids it well.

Helber knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Burton on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Burton creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Helber sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Helber tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Burton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Burton throws a strike aimed at the side of Helber's head but Helber avoids it well.
Helber is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Burton's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Burton wants to take a breather but Helber is having none of it.
Burton has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Burton tries to pass the half guard into mount. Helber knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Helber is looking to improve his position.
Helber makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Helber.
Burton wants to control from the top but Helber keeps moving.
Helber will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Burton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Burton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Helber working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Burton.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Helber closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Helber scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Burton slaps away a takedown attempt from Helber, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Helber closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Burton quickly recovers to half guard.
Burton is staying active underneath Helber, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Burton is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Helber's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Helber's back!
Helber turns into Burton and is now in his guard.
Helber throwing strikes but missing.
Burton manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Burton. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Helber tries to lock up and control but Burton gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Burton jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Helber is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Helber and Burton has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Helber is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Burton locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Helber is forced to tap!
