Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Peter Pan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tokyo Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Pan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tokyo Joe!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe throws out a leg kick but Pan moves out of range and Joe only half commits.
Joe digs a good hook to Pan's body.
Pan smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Pan throws a jab but it's blocked by Joe.
Joe connects with a right hand. Pan shakes it off.
No joy there for Joe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Joe swings for the body but Pan moves out of range.
Pan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Joe manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pan on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Joe misses with a few strikes there.
Pan tries to close the distance and clinch but Joe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Joe paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Tokyo Joe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pan is looking to clinch but Joe is avoiding it.
Nice straight punches there by Joe. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Joe.
Joe throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Pan gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Pan is trying to stall.
Pan lands an elbow inside.


It looks like Tokyo Joe has been cut.

Pan breaks from the clinch.
Joe throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pan on the side of the head.
Some wild striking there from Pan.
Joe connects with a good right hand that stumbles Pan. Pan circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Pan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Joe swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Pan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Joe.
Joe has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Pan misses with a head kick.
Joe ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Joe is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Pan ducks right into an uppercut from Joe.
Joe lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Joe stuns Pan with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Pan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Joe swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Pan counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Joe jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Pan looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Pan is looking to clinch but Joe is avoiding it.

A lazy left from Joe finds it's target.
The fight stays on the outside here - Pan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Sloppy strikes from Joe. Those never looked like landing.
Joe throws a series of punches but Pan avoids them all with ease.
Pan walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Pan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Joe paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Joe counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Joe is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Pan had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Pan closes the distance and clinches.
Joe avoiding damage as Pan throws knees to the body.
Pan throws a knee to the head but misses.
Joe has Pan pushed against the cage.
Pan misses with an elbow strike.
Pan displaying some good clinch control by pressing Joe up against the cage.
Joe looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Joe tries to circle away but Pan has him pinned against the cage.

Pan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Joe counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Pan thinking.
Joe fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Joe throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Peter Pan will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Tokyo Joe's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Pan throws a sloppy head kick and Joe moves out of range easily.
Joe scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Pan throws a series of punches but Joe moves out of range.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Joe in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Joe lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Joe.

Pan moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Pan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Joe manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Joe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pan was well out of range. Poor timing from Joe.

Joe throws a low kick, looking for Pan's leg but Pan calmly moves out of range.
Joe connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Pan's hands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Joe scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Pan doesn't seem bothered though.
Pan looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Joe connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Pan's hands.

Pan takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Pan fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Joe is out of range.

Joe moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Joe swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Pan.
Joe fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Pan looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Peter Pan will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Tokyo Joe's cut.
That's time! Pan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Pan has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Pan there as he acknowledges the shot.
Joe lands with a good body shot.
Pan tries to grapple but his opponent circles
letting Joe counter with a right hand.
Joe stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Pan.
Joe comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Pan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Joe circles away quickly and effectively.
Tokyo Joe seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Pan checks the leg kick nicely there.
Joe misses with a series of wild punches.
Joe changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Pan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Pan stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Pan is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Joe is defending well for now.
Pan pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Joe wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pan has him pressed against the cage.

A short body shot lands from Pan as the two fighters clinch.
Pan is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Joe is defending well for now.

Joe throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Pan here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Joe throws a looping overhand right but Pan ducks down to avoid it.
Joe bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Pan tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Joe counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Joe misses with an uppercut. Pan saw that one coming.
Joe smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Pan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Joe connects with a body shot that sends Pan's belly button to the back.
A low kick from Joe is predictable there
and Pan counters with a nice leg kick.
Pan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Joe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pan manages to avoid it.

Pan has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Joe finds it's way round the side to connect with Pan's head.

Peter Pan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Pan jumps guard and drags Joe to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Joe working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Joe has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pan is proving hard to escape from.
Tokyo Joe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Joe drops back looking for a leg! Pan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pan manages to kick Joe off! Joe jumps back into Pan's guard.
Joe is working Pan over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

And that's the end of the fight!
Peter Pan showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
