PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chuck White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Dunsmore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dunsmore comes into a darkened arena with his song building. It's Amazing by Kanye West kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chuck White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nick Dunsmore!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for White.

White closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dunsmore is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, White asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A lull in the action here as White stalls from top position.

White connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Dunsmore some visible discomfort.
White wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dunsmore keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

White has Dunsmore flattened out and is raining down punches.
White cracks Dunsmore with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Dunsmore from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
White is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. White gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. White gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. White apologises and we restart here on the feet.
White thuds his right hand into Dunsmore's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
White throws out a loose jab but Dunsmore uses good head movement to avoid it.

White slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Dunsmore throws an uppercut from half a mile away. White sees it coming and avoids it easily.
White uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Dunsmore has time to react.
White keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Dunsmore connects with a body shot that sends White's belly button to the back.
White will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Dunsmore keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
White throws a series of punches but Dunsmore moves out of range.

White lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
White throws a looping overhand right but Dunsmore ducks down to avoid it.
White uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Dunsmore moves away from the strike by White.

and Dunsmore counters with a nice uppercut.
White is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
White closes the distance and clinches up with Dunsmore, looking for a takedown. White pushes Dunsmore against the cage but Dunsmore circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The fighters circling - White throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Dunsmore avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
White is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
White misses with a jab to the body
and Dunsmore counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
White connects with a looping right hand.
Dunsmore moves out of range as White strikes.

White shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
White seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dunsmore does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
White stops Dunsmore from getting back to his feet.

Dunsmore pushes White away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, White gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Dunsmore tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
White fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
White has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Dunsmore trying desperately to get to his feet.
White pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Dunsmore with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling White to score with a decent uppercut.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Chuck White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dunsmore gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows White to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for White, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
