PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arshad Singh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ference Gabor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Singh comes into the arena with Check it out blaring out of the sound system. Gabor comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Vendetta kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arshad Singh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ference Gabor!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gabor feints and then cracks Singh's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Singh down.
Singh throws a looping overhand right but Gabor ducks down to avoid it.
A swing and a miss from Gabor.
No joy there for Singh, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gabor throws a leg kick but Singh moved away.
Gabor uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Singh.

Gabor shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Singh is trying to defend but Gabor finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Gabor feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Gabor does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Donk. Singh catches Gabor right on the button with a cross.

A slow jab from Gabor misses its intended target.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gabor lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Singh has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Singh and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
