Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy OHara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randy OHara will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jorge Rivera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy OHara!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Reed Andrews and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OHara misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Rivera looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Rivera seems to be looking for submissions.

Rivera is looking for a kimura but OHara is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rivera to get the leverage.
Rivera trying to mount his opponent but OHara defends it.
OHara is trying to get back to full guard.

Rivera is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
OHara trying to control here.

Rivera is looking for a kimura but OHara is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rivera to get the leverage.

Rivera is trying to work for a kimura but OHara is defending well.
OHara is in trouble now - Rivera has advanced to mount!

OHara wants to control but Rivera is having none of it.

Rivera has control of OHara's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and OHara regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Rivera looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Rivera is going oldschool here, as he tries to force OHara to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so OHara shrugs it off.

Rivera jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but OHara manages to avoid the submission attempt.
OHara tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rivera wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Rivera is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. OHara knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if OHara can do anything to dispel that myth.
OHara wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Rivera is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, OHara has escaped the position, nice work there.

Rivera tries for a kimura but OHara is defending well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rivera has an Americana. OHara didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Rivera is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Rivera hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jorge Rivera!
