The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons cracks Cullen with a right hand to the side of the head.

Cullen gets the takedown into side control.
Simmons is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Cullen's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Simmons wants to improve his position but Cullen is controlling well.

Simmons is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Simmons had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Cullen is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Simmons Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cullen's back instead.
Cullen is really stuck here.

Simmons is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Cullen with him. Cullen is trying to defend but Simmons has an arm under the chin now! Cullen grimaces and is forced to tap out!
