PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between El Chupacabra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian Maiden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maiden has chosen The Trooper as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Chupacabra drops his hands momentarily and Maiden takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Maiden takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Chupacabra. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Chupacabra throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Maiden was covering up waiting for the punch and Chupacabra finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Maiden seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Maiden is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Maiden's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Chupacabra decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Maiden's guard.

Maiden is looking to stand up but Chupacabra isn't so interested in that idea.

Maiden manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chupacabra manages to get himself to full guard.

Chupacabra takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

and Chupacabra counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Chupacabra is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Maiden's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
