The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Cooper does no damage.
Gracie pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Cooper back to the cage. Gracie follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Gracie shoots in and drives through. Cooper sprawls well.
Cooper stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cooper wants it to stay on the feet.

Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown. Cooper tries to sprawl out of it but Gracie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cooper manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Cooper is trying to work for a kimura but Gracie is defending well.

Cooper seems to be looking for submissions.
Cooper is stalling here. Gracie is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Cooper seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Gracie has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cooper, who protects the arm well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Gracie goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Cooper has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gracie but great work by Cooper.
Cooper misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Cooper works to advance to full mount. Gracie defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Gracie sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cooper wants to free his trapped foot but Gracie is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Gracie wants to hold on but Cooper pushes him away.
Gracie is squirming around, avoiding Cooper's attempts to control the action.

Cooper moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Gracie has worked his arm free - good work by Gracie!

Cooper throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Gracie has his hands clasped together but Cooper breaks the hold and Gracie is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Cooper!
