PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Crowley Osbourne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Osbourne comes to the cage accompanied by Mr Crowley. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Crowley Osbourne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Donnie Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Stevens. Osbourne does a little dance to reset his feet.
Stevens scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Osbourne scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Good standup being displayed there by Stevens as he connects with a hook.
Stevens misses with a hook. Osbourne ducked under it nicely.
Crowley Osbourne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Osbourne looks to throw the jab but Stevens is out of range.
Osbourne looks to land a left hand but Stevens moved out of range nicely.
A big right from Osbourne misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Osbourne throws a hook but Stevens blocks it.
Stevens misses with a looping right.
Osbourne bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Osbourne jabs Stevens to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Osbourne's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Stevens connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Osbourne scrambles back to his feet.

Stevens uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Osbourne.

Osbourne throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Osbourne throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Osbourne shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Stevens eats them both and turns towards Osbourne to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Osbourne looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Osbourne throws a hook but Stevens blocks it.

Osbourne shoots in for a takedown but Stevens shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Osbourne takes a swing at Stevens's ribcage but misses.
Osbourne swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Stevens.
Osbourne looks to land a right hand but Stevens moved out of range.
Osbourne closes this distance looking for a takedown but Stevens circles away.

Stevens uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Osbourne.

Stevens moves out of range as Osbourne strikes.
Osbourne rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Stevens moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A swing and a miss from Stevens.

Osbourne with a nice cross.

Stevens moves into range and clinches up with Osbourne.
Osbourne jumps guard but Stevens stands there with Osbourne around his waist. Osbourne gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Osbourne is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Osbourne drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Stevens gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Stevens lands a hook to the side of the head.
Stevens dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

Osbourne decides to pull guard.
Osbourne keeping moving, preventing Stevens from controlling successfully.
Stevens slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Osbourne controlling the position.
Stevens wants to stand but Osbourne has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Donnie Stevens dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Osbourne will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Stevens connects with the punch.

Stevens takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Donnie Stevens is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stevens avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Osbourne shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stevens as he jumps to the side.
Stevens misses the shot to the body.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters circle momentarily. Osbourne darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Osbourne throws a looping overhand right but Stevens ducks down to avoid it.
Osbourne is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Osbourne throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stevens sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Stevens loads up on a big right hand but Osbourne slips the punch.
A punch lands to the side of Stevens 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Some wild striking there from Stevens.
Osbourne looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Stevens throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Osbourne misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Crowley Osbourne. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Stevens throws the left hand but Osbourne avoids the punch easily.
Osbourne throws a lazy right hand but Stevens sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Osbourne changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stevens looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Osbourne wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stevens keeps working.
Osbourne in side control, throwing shots but Stevens defends.

Osbourne looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Stevens is avoiding damage well.

Stevens is trying to escape the position but Osbourne is controlling the position.

Osbourne working the ground and pound but Stevens is defending the strikes.
Stevens takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Osbourne wants to control but Stevens is keeping him busy.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


A jab lands there for Osbourne.
Osbourne throws a hook but Stevens avoids it easily.
Stevens defending well as Osbourne loads up on a big left hand.
Osbourne connects with a right hand. Stevens shakes it off.
Stevens misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Osbourne cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Osbourne is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Stevens's half guard.
Stevens tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Osbourne has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Stevens wants to control but Osbourne is having none of it.

Osbourne lands a heavy elbow.
Osbourne throws some wild stikes that Stevens manages to avoid easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stevens wants to hold on but Osbourne pushes him away.

Osbourne lands a nice shot to the head.
Stevens keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Osbourne can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Stevens is looking to escape.

BOOM! Osbourne connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Osbourne punishing his opponent with strikes.
Osbourne lands a big shot there that rocks Stevens but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Poor strikes thrown by Osbourne there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Stevens's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Osbourne is working for a guillotine from mount but Stevens frees his head quite easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Osbourne landing punches.

Osbourne thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
BOOM! Osbourne connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Osbourne throws some wild stikes that Stevens manages to avoid easily.
Stevens keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Osbourne looking to ground and pound but Stevens is blocking nicely.

Osbourne goes for an armbar but Stevens turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Stevens.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Osbourne is on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Osbourne throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stevens works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Osbourne trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Osbourne with a flurry of punches that miss.
Osbourne lands a couple of digs.
Stevens working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Osbourne.
Stevens looking to control.
Osbourne working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Crowley Osbourne overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Osbourne is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Stevens is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Stevens has escaped and now he's on top!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Osbourne is on top in guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Crowley Osbourne showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Osbourne has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
