Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Kirshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vernon Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vernon Turner told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Kirshaw walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

That was a close round but I would say that Thomas Kirshaw will probably get the nod.

Turner closes the distance and clinches up with Kirshaw, looking for a takedown. Turner pushes Kirshaw against the cage but Kirshaw circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Kirshaw fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Turner.

Turner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kirshaw manages to avoid it.
Turner throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kirshaw was covering up waiting for the punch and Turner finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kirshaw wants to get back to his feet but Turner is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Kirshaw trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Kirshaw is pulling down on Turner's head. It's preventing any offense from Turner, at least for the moment.
Turner is looking to work some ground and pound but Kirshaw has wrist control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Turner keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kirshaw's head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Turner wants to control from the top but Kirshaw keeps moving.
Turner is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Turner feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
